I have a friend who had a baby, who quickly became my muse. We would get together and I would attempt to take photos of this beautiful girl. Sometimes, I would get lucky and we would end up with a pretty good photo. Other times, we would just laugh at our epic fails. We always had fun when we did our little sessions. One day, I had this great idea to take her to a sunflower field and get some beautiful shots. She was always such a cooperative model. On this particular day, I asked her to put two of the flowers together near her face, and just when I pressed the shutter button, I saw a bee heading for her face. Yes, the bee stung her, but I got the perfect shot. She was traumatized of course. Later, we were able to laugh and joke about how we were never taking shots in sunflowers again. A few years passed and I hadn't taken any photos of her until recently. She came into my studio and it was just like we hadn't been apart. We laughed while she came up with her own poses and a few of mine, and got some great images. Here's a sampling of our photos over the years, the epic sting, and a remake with fake sunflowers of course.
